How/What is the local public transportation?
Not all that great. There is the downtown trolley – the ‘Dillo and the Capital Metro Bus system. 'Dillos are rubber-tire replicas of the old trolleys that served downtown in the last century. There are two `Dillo routes: one goes east and west through downtown and the other goes north and south. Fifty cents buys you two hours worth of rides on the `Dillo.

The bus is, well…the bus. For more information and schedules for both the ‘Dillo and the bus system, visit: http://www.capmetro.org/riding/schedulesandmaps.asp

INSURANCE

What's the dealio with insurance?
All skaters and personnel on skates who will be inside the track during the bouts are required to purchase temporary insurance from the Starnet Insurance Company.

Can I use my private or USARS insurance instead?
No. In order for everyone to be covered, ALL skaters and personnel on skates must have Starnet coverage for the tournament.

Why Starnet?
Best's Rating Center (a well-known insurance-related rating company) rates Starnet as A+, there is only one rating higher than A+, and that is A++, so Starnet is a stable company in good shape. USARS, owned by AIG is not rated nearly as high. USARS coverage costs more and the deductible is $5,000 as opposed to Starnet's $500 for banked-track coverage. If you are interested in researching Starnet on your own - here's a good place to start:
http://www3.ambest.com/ratings/FullProfile.asp?BL=0&amb=12245&AltNum=158...

Okay. What is it going to cost me?
For two days of the tournament at the Austin Convention Center PLUS two days of practice at the TXRD practice facility, the coverage is $8 per person. For that $8 you can get $10,000 in coverage per claim with a $500 deductible. A steal by any other name!

VENDORS

Who can register to be a vendor?
Anyone can register to be a vendor so long as you have a vendor license. The only limitations are that we cannot host any food or drink vendors. Just go to www.TXRD.com/tourney and click on the vendor info link. At the bottom of the page, click the link that says “Register Your Vendor Space” and register for your space in our Vendor Alley. You will be contacted with your next steps.

How do I register to be a vendor?
Just click on the vendor info link on this website. At the bottom of the page, click the link that says “Register Your Vendor Space” and register for your space in our Vendor Alley. You will be contacted with your next steps.

How much does it cost? Do I pay per day? Or is the price for both days?
There are three vendor packages available. Prices range between $100 and $300, and include both days of the tournament, as well as admission for two people. Click on the vendor info link for a more detailed description of each vendor package.

Will a table and chairs be provided?
Yes. Each vendor will be provided with an uncovered table and two chairs.

What will be the arrangement of the vendors?
The vendors will all be set up in our “Vendor Village”. Think of a street fair plopped inside of a convention center.

How many vendors will there be?
Yes. Each vendor will be provided with an uncovered table and two chairs.

Is my admission to the event included in my vendor fees? If so, how many vendors are given admission with my vendor fee?
Yes. Your vendor fee includes admission to the tournament for yourself and one additional person. You are given two admissions in total.

What types of vendors will be there?
There will be a variety of vendors at the tournament. Some include: skate equipment, crafts, jewelry, roller derby league merchandise, and other local businesses.

What are the dimensions of the space I will be getting? Can I rent more than one space at a time?
Each vendor is given a 10’ by 10’ area for their space. Yes! You can rent more than one space. If you want the spaces to be next to one another, be sure to let us know.

Can I bring another person with me?
You will receive admission for yourself and one additional person with your vendor fee per table purchased. Additional tickets can be purchased through our website, from a roller girl in advance, or at the door.

Will I have to pack up my table overnight? Or can I just leave it there for the next day?
We do not recommend leaving your merchandise in the convention center overnight. However, you may choose to do so at your own risk. The hall WILL be locked overnight and the key will be held by our Vendor Point Person.

Do I have to give any of my proceeds to TXRD?
No. Your vendor fee covers your space at the event. The rest is all yours!

Do I need a vendor license or tax ID?
Yes. Your tax ID must be visible at all times.

Do I need to have insurance?
No. It is not required for a vendor to have insurance, but it is not discouraged. T.X.R.D does not offer insurance.

What are the hours that the event will run? What time can I begin setting up my table?
We are expecting approximately 2,500 people to attend. That is a lot of potential customers for Vendor Village!

Will I be able to set up a booth at your future events?
Yes. We have vendors at our regular season bouts, as well. We are always interested in new sponsorships, too!

What are the demographics of your audience?
Just about every type of person is represented at our bouts. There is no one type of derby fan!
