Did you go to a TXRD game and fall in love with roller derby?
Is it your dream to skate on the banked track and get hit so good by Zara Problem? Do you want to skate so fast like your roller derby hero Mad Maxican? Or are you just looking for a place where you really feel like you belong? If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, you’re in the right place!
Every skater you’ve seen on our track made it where they are today by going through the three-month TXRD Lone Star Roller Rookies program. During the program, potential skaters aren’t just assessed based on skills and bouting ability; we’re looking for hardworking league mates who aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and do what needs to be done to run our skater-owned business. We’re not looking for one specific type of person–we want people from all backgrounds.

No problem! Skaters of every level have tried out for TXRD and, through months of hard work and determination, made it. Take the first step and shoot us an email. We promise we’re not as scary as we look!
- We welcome all 21+ female identifying, non-binary, and gender non-conforming skaters.
- All practices are held at our warehouse located in Buda, TX.

Tryout Workshop Sessions

These sessions are designed to provide you with the skills and confidence you need to excel on the track. Our experienced skaters and trainers are excited to walk you through the basics, ensuring you feel well-prepared and confident when the tryouts roll around.
