Cherry Bombs vs Holy Rollers – 8/10

By Domme Draper August 1, 2019

It’s the dog days of summer–school’s out, temperatures are sky-high, and the city’s troublemakers roam the streets with a thirst for violence and no adult supervision! The pious pupils of Sacred Heart have waited all year to get out from under the thumb of nuns and teachers, and they’re trading their Bibles for brass knuckles to square up against a band of juvenile-delinquent punk rock kids with a distaste for authority and a penchant for dynamite.

This is the final regular season bout of 2019, and the Holy Rollers and Cherry Bombs are hitting the track with everything to lose in a bid to secure a spot in the Calvello Cup playoffs! It’s been a rocky season for the Bombs, who have been skating with a bare-bones roster for the past several bouts with Scrappy and Macho Mandy Savage benched for injury. However, they’ve put their signature chaotic energy to work in the face of adversity to come into this game at 2-2. Even with their limited numbers, they’re guaranteed to be a considerable hurdle to the Rollers, who boast a full roster and the confidence of an unbroken string of victories, on the path to Champs.

Catch the action on August 10th at the Palmer Events Center, and don’t forget to visit and support our charity partner for this bout, Girls Rock Austin, who have empowered more than 1200 girls, gender fluid/non-binary and trans youth since 2007 with  music instruction, band coaching, workshops and more.
